Ingredients :
Course Sooji - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Onions (Chopped) - 1/2 Onion
Green Chillies (Chopped) - 2
Peas - 1/4 cup
Ginger (Chopped) - 1/3 inch
Chana dal - 1/4 tbs
Urad dal - 1/4 tbs
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tbs
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tbs
Salt - To taste
Lemon juice - 1/4 tbs
Sugar - If needed
Cilantro leaves - To garnish
Preparation :
1) Roast the sooji with 1/2 tbs oil on a medium flame for 5 minutes and set aside.
2) Take a pan add 3 tbs oil,chana dal,urad dal,mustard seeds and let it splutter..Then add cumin seeds,green chillies,peas,onions and fry till the onions turn translucent.
3) Now add water,salt,lemon juice,sugar if required and cilantro leaves and let it boil.
4) When it starts boiling add sooji slowly and keep stirring on low flame.
Upma is ready to serve when hot.Enjoy it with coconut chutney and podi.
