Bitter gourd curry(Hagalkai palya)

Ingredients :

Bitter gourd-2
Chopped onion-1 cup
Red chilli powder-1 table spoon
Chopped garlic-1 table spoon
Turmeric powder-1/4 tbs spoon
Tamarind paste-1 table spoon
Jaggery-2 table spoon
Salt-As required
Peanut powder-2 table spoon
sesame seeds-1/2 tbs spoon
cumin seeds-1/4 tbs spoon
Rasam powder(MTR)-1/4 tbs spoon
water
Oil-2 table spoon


Preparation :

Peel the outer surface of bitter gourd and cut them into halves,split each halve and keep aside.
Take oil in a pan,add sesame seeds,cumin seeds,garlic,onion,turmeric and fry.Now add red chilli powder,tamarind paste,jaggery,rasam powder and water. Add pieces of bitter gourd and boil till they r cooked.

**Water should be added in such a way that the pieces should immerse in water.


Bitter gourd curry is ready to serve.
