Tomato Saaru (Tomato Rasam)

Ingredients :

Tomatoes - 2
Oil - 2 tbs
Garlic (Chopped) - 2 garlic
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tbs
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tbs
Asafoetida - A pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbs
Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tbs
Cilantro leaves - To Garnish
Salt - To Taste
Sugar - 1 tbs

Preparation :

Cut and boil tomatoes with water in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.

Now let it cool and when cooled smash it well.Next take a pan add oil,mustard seeds and let it splutter,then add cumin seeds,asafoetida,garlic,turmeric powder and fry till the garlic turns golden brown.Then add the smashed tomato puree,required amount of water,red chilli powder,salt,sugar and cilantro leaves.Now boil this for 15 minutes on a medium flame.

Tomato saaru is ready to serve..Enjoy it with Rice.
